Rainy Day Activities In Myrtle Beach

Although hot, sunny weather is typical of Myrtle Beach in the warmer months, unpredictable weather and a rainy forecast can sometimes put a damper on your vacation plans – especially in the midst of hurricane season. Even on a rainy day, the Grand Strand offers plenty of great activities that you & your family can enjoy while waiting out the weather! Here are a few rainy day activities:

– Broadway at the Beach
While most of Broadway at the Beach is technically an outdoor attraction, the complex offers plenty of venues with great indoor attractions. A visit to Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach will make you feel like you never left the ocean, and the iconic WonderWorks provides tons of educational fun for your whole family. In addition to these attractions, Broadway at the Beach offers tons of dining options, a movie theater, and even the Hollywood Wax Museum right across the street!

– Enjoy a Show
There are plenty of entertainment theaters across the Grand Strand with shows running daily! The Alabama Theater and Carolina Opry offer award-winning musical performances, while Pirates Voyage and Medieval Times offer fun, interactive dinner theater experiences that will be sure to entertain the whole family.

– Go Shopping
Tanger Outlets is located right off of Highway 17 in Myrtle Beach! Tanger is home to over 200 shops in a clean, well-maintained environment with plenty of great deals waiting to be found. Barefoot Landing, another beautiful shopping & entertainment venue, is located only 7 minutes north from Tanger Outlets. Barefoot Landing has plenty of retail shops, entertainment venues, and dining options – and, although mainly an outdoor venue, has plenty of great indoor activities and experiences for the whole family.

– EdVenture Children’s Museum
If you have little ones with you, the 3,000 square-foot EdVenture Children’s Museum offers countless activities and “imaginative experiences” for your kids. Admission for children & adults is only $9, and the museum is located in the beautiful Market Common – which has plenty of great retail & dining options in a walkable village setting.

– Play Some Games!
Whether you’re looking for a classic arcade, laser tag, or bowling, Myrtle Beach has tons of great venues to keep you & your family entertained. If you’re looking for a more classic arcade experience, the Fun Plaza Arcade on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is a great option. Fun Warehouse in Myrtle Beach is another fun way to spend an afternoon – with laser tag, go karts, an indoor skating rink, and arcade game all in one location, there’s no shortage of activities to keep every member of your family happy. If you’re looking for a venue where the adults can kick back and enjoy a few drinks while enjoying entertainment, 810 Billiards & Bowling and Dave & Buster’s are both great venues to enjoy games, food, and perhaps a few cocktails.

When you’re done with your rainy day activities, consider a jet ski or pontoon boat rental when the weather clears.
